Has anyone come across interior photos of MSC OPERA? I might be sailing on her January 22 and I'd like to see how she looks compared to MSC LIRICA.

Thanks!

Ernie

Hi Ernie, there is some computer generated images and a computer generated animation on the MSC web site, plus deck plans, but none of it is very helpful, I'm afraid!

Thanks Malcolm. I've seen those, and while excellent for being computer generated I would like to see the real thing.

I can't mention the name here, but another website hosted by Anne Campbell has just posted a public review and a few photos of MSC OPERA. I like what I read and what I see ... and I would like to see more!

Hopefully my cruise will work out. I think MSC is just the breath of fresh air the mainstream cruise industry needs.

Take care,
Ernie

Ernie, the Opera will be in port with me three different times when I am on the Navigator OTS in three weeks. Too bad I will not be able to get inside and take some photos for you. I will be taking some photos of her while docked in San Juan, St. Thomas and Nassau.

Hi Gordon,
Have a great time on NAVIGATOR OTS! Will it be your first time on a Voyager Class ship? They are pretty amazing ships.

I look forward to any exterior shots you get of MSC OPERA. Not too many of those either.

Bon Voyage!!

Ernie

Ernie, it will be my first time on a Voyager class ship. I have only read great things about this ship and am looking forward to trying it out. I like the fact that they have dropped Labadee and picked up St. Maarten which is one of my favorite islands. Love Orient Beach.

I should have some good opportunities to take some shots of the Opera docked in port. I will get as many angles of her that I can.

I will be anxious to hear your comments on this new product. If Sasso runs this company like he is capable of doing he can put some pressure on some of the big boys here in the mainland.

Hi PamM:
I just returned to Canada last week from Scotland, as I had to return there from Italy because of the death of my father two days after we disembarked from our trip on the Opera.

The cruise worked out very well and I now have joined that little group of MSC boosters.
My review of the cruise just appeared today in reader reviews.

As I'm a computer illiterate I'll have to get my daughter to help post some photos in the gallery as soon as I can

I think you will be quite impressed with the Voyager Class. If nothing else you can't help but be in awe of the technological marvel these ships are. There is absolutely nothing that comes close on the high seas. Enjoy!

Thanks for the photo link. OPERA's interiors look plush, although a bit pink/mauve for my personal taste. Kind of an 80's look especially with the brass. In person the feeling might be different. Looking at Pam's pics of LIRICA I think I prefer the color scheme on her although the basic style is the same. In any case, the ship looks very comfortable and spacious .... with huge amounts of public spaces. I look forward to sailing on OPERA in person.

Keitaro:
It's not actually. It's the backdrop for a floodlit dancing waters fountain they use at evening deck parties. Never did see it working, as the big party to be held while docked in Palma was washed out by a major thunderstorm and downpour.

Hiya, I had a post on the interiors with pictures from Cruise News Daily but my post has been wiped for some odd reason.

Oh well..

The interious really do look good and the Coffee Bar linked with the Atrium looks very stunning. Very good idea to use the Atrium in diferent ways.

Thanks for the links and replies. I guess I'll get to see the interiors first hand. I just booked the January 22nd sailing. I'm really looking forward to trying a line that is not owned by Carnival or Royal Caribbean! I hope the "Italian atmosphere" is true to the MSC advertising.

I'll be sure to post a report when I return.

Typical 7-day Western Caribbean. Nothing exciting, but it's the MSC product that I'm looking to experience .... not the ports which I have already been to a thousand times.

Ernie, I know that the QE2 has drawn you across the pond, but have you ever thought about trying P&O and/or Fred Olsen?

Hi Malcolm,
I would like to try both, but I think they are a bit beyond my budget at the moment. I'm especially anxious to try ORIANA and AURORA. I think those ships are stunning (inside and out).

Maybe someday.

Ah, the last two 'proper' P&O ships!

Even though I do not need to pay a transatlantic air-fare to cruise on these ships, they are expensive for me too!

I'd probably get a cheaper fare (inc.flights) on MSC Opera?
