Can anyone remind me what is happening to the ex-Airtours vessels: Carousel, Seawing and Sundream?

(I know that Sunbird is now 'Thomson Destiny')

SUNDREAM has been sold to an Israeli company and has been renamed DREAM PRINCESS. She will sail between Haifa and Limassol. She left Southampton about a week ago...

CAROUSEL has been sold to Louis and chartered back to MyTravel. She will become the AQUAMARINE for Louis in May 05.

SUNBIRD has also been sold to Louis and chartered back to MyTravel until January 05. She will then become the THOMSON DESTINY.

Carousel will sail for the German market along with the Sapphire.

Sunbird will be charted to Thomson for 10 years.

Ships are geared these days to "markets" determined by nationality : "the british market, the german market, the american market, the french market" etc etc.

I have sailed the "Oceanic" which was clearly geared to the "Spanish (Iberian) market"

In a way it would be very interesting, to sail consecutively on ships geared to an other national "market", and see the difference.

Much more than a landbased resort, or a city anywhere in those "markets" the nationality will be more imposing, as a ship is, by definition, isolated on the sea.

How far will it be different, not only in food, and service, and language and entertainment, but also in general feeling and ambiance. It is sometimes the little things. IS there more friction towards the person not of that nationality ?

HAs anyone done this, cruising more or less the same category of ships for different "markets" ? And what was the result ? Was it interesting, or difficult, or boring, or something to do again or not .

And if destined to a particular "market", are members of the other "market" are welcome ?

J

I understood that Sundream and Carousel were not in such good shape, mechanically? They must be in their 'golden years', so to speak?

Has anyone got an interior shots of these ships. I've never seen the public rooms.
