I sometimes like when there is an older group of passengers are on board. The pluses are there are usually plenty of deck chairs poolside, the ship is much more quiet and the conversations can be quite interesting hearing from more mature expierienced travelers. On one QE2 trip we took in the late 80s, the average age was well over 50 and I was in my 20s and I had a great time-maybe the best cruise ever in terms of interesting passengers to be around.

I've seen that before somewhere. It's not nasty.. he did say the ship was nicely fitted out & the crew really brilliant. As to the 'old peoples home', well what else does one expect on a 3 week cruise ex UK. Very few non-retirees would be able to fit in a cruise of that length. Even if during the school hols [and I don't expect it was], there maybe a few younger pax, but not many. Perhaps he didn't do his 'homework' on that score.

BP was lovely for a short trip, but I don't think I'd want to cruise any longer than 10 days aboard, before I'm due for the OPH

The reviewer has a valid opinion. Olsen does attract an older age group.

He need sto do his research better next time, preferably via cruisetalk.
