I was just poking around the Cunard web site and learned that the Caronia (ex Vistafjord) is being removed from service toward the end of October.

Its future may have been discussed here, but I can't remember seeing anything at least in recent months.

As the ship is 31 years old and has virtually no veranda cabins does this mean she is headed for the breakers or is she being picked up by one of the smaller lines?

CARONIA is going over to Saga Holidays to be renamed SAGA RUBY. She will be rejoining her sister ship SAGA ROSE (ex.SAGAFJORD.)

Very strange. I went to Saga Holiday's web site and there's no mention of their new acquistion. In fact, they still haven't posted their 2005 cruise schedule -- there's no mention as to what any of their ships will be doing after December of this year.

Strange concept of marketing.....

I thougt that Caronia will be out of commision for a major refit that includes a completely new pool and lido-thankfully not destroying her lovely lines.

Order the 2005 brochure - it's fast at arriving.

Jekyll -- thanks so much. Apparently there are two Sagas sites. The one I was looking at that was devoid of 2005 information was www.sagaholidays.com
