Today at the Taste of Minnesota I saw a huge blow-up version of the Voyager of the Seas. I guess RCCL is using it as a way to get people's attention and you can go inside of it for a presentation on Royal Caribbean. First time I ever saw anything like that. RCCL use to just tour around in a big semi-truck painted with RCCL colors...but now they have this big inflatible Voyager of the Seas! Kind of neat!

I also saw the controversial inflatible TITANIC that is actuallty a slide for kids...The Titanic is up on end (in her sinking position) and you can climb up the middle and slide down the deck..an odd attraction??? There was once a picture & conversation of that inflatible Titanic here on CruiseTalk, but I couldn't seem to find it to post a photo.

Also at our Taste of Minnesota event on the third of July...a bunch of paddle wheelers will be in St. Paul!! Sounds exciting...I'm going to try and make it there. Perhaps I'll post photos ??

Barryboat:

May I humbly suggest that you substitute the word "inflatable" for "blow up." The latter causes all sorts of images not particularly favorable to the cruise industry.

Indeed, and the latter is also easier to understand for persons like me to which english is not the mother language! I was quite surprised by the title of this thread...

I've seen quite a few of these Titanic slides around now and various other 'inflatables' which companies use for promotional purposes, some which you can go in for a talk or whatever, but I've not see a ship-shaped one.
Bet it looked great, and must have caught the eye, caught any photos Barryboat?

Pam,

Yes that's the photo I was searching for, and yes thatis the inflatable Titanic I saw. The Voyager of the Seas caught my eye from miles away...I recognized the inflatable VOS and got all excited to see a cruise ship in Minnesota. I'll try tlo get a photo of the VOS inflatable display and Titanic.

Barryboat, I have seen a picture of an inflatable Navigator of the Seas on the RCI website, for a commercial tour called the "ultimate adventure tour"... is this what you are refering to?

rccldesign....YES That's the thing that was set up down down St. Paul at our Taste of Minnesota event! I ran out of film so I didn't get a photo so I'm glad you were able to find one.

I actually went onboard the Delta Queen yesterday for the 4th..I had already been on the American Queen and the Mississippi Queen, but yesterday was the first time I had an opportunity to visit the Delta Queen, the oldest boat in their fleet. She went into service in 1927 as a car ferry. Beautiful boat! Scuttlebut was that President Bush was originally planned to visit the Delta Queen in St. Paul during the Grand Excursion event, but his trip to Turkey took priority. Also there are possibly plans for her next refit to create exterior doors or entrances for the suites.
