Good one Phil!
But please, remember Apollo XIII?
Dis your granny ever sailed or flew on the 13th?
Even in 21st Century, superstition prevails.
I noticed these mega cruise ships with 14 decks tactfully name their decks such as Tween deck(13 in marine language?)..as in Sovereign of the Seas.
I know QE2 has numbered decks, but please lets hear what others says on CT!
ssLewis, loving quiet travel on that date!

Thanks for that-

I also noticed earlier in the year whilst on Superstar Virgo that they dont have the number 4 in any of their cabin numbers- i think it has something to do with it being an unlucky number!

There are supersticions in Japan about "4." In the counting system it is "shi" which is also one term for "death."

This may be it.

Hi,

I noticed this as well when I was looking at a Carnival brochure that Triumph and Victory along with the Conquest class have no Deck 13.

Well well well....
Cultures varies according to countries!
Not seen a deck plan of Grand class..
Let me tell you more about latin superstition.
Whilst working on ssSky Princess in 1998, the top deck had no suite 13!
So the cabin opposite 12 was 15! It meant that there was an extra cabin on one side.
It was used by an officer who enjoyed easy access to aft deck with seawater swimming -pool!
ssLewis, addicted to roman style
