I recently recived an advertisement from Princess to Circle Club members. It was for 9 and 10 day Sydney to Sydney cruise in Feb. and Mar of '04. I was hoping to get info and book before the Labor Day holiday on Monday but it's nowhere to be found. The Princess website doesn't show anything on the Pacific Princess from mid Nov. '03 untill mid April of '04. They are not listed on any of the other travel websites that I can find. Any info???

Right now she is doing Alaska from S.F. On the dates you listed I believe she goes to P.O. Austrailia. That would explain why there is no listing for her in Princess sailings.

We have just sailed the Pacific Princess to Alaska. I know that they will continue these cruises through mid-September then they relocate to the Pacific Islands. I remember the crew mentioning that they were also doing a cruise or two to the Far East. She is then being assigned to Australia and there are no plans for her to return and repeat the Alaska cruises next year. I wonder why as most of this years sailings out of San Francisco were sold out?

Joe - Pacific Princess is indeed "down under" from November 2003 to April 2004. She is making the trip especially for me

(just kidding). I am booked on the first cruise of this season from Sydney on 19 November.

If you would like details of her cruises from Sydney for that period you can find the information at www.pocruises.com.au - I managed to get a great balcony deal. Hope to see you "down under"

I think you will find pacific princess will return to alaska after april 04 - unless they decide to place her somewhere else, but by the sounds of it that would be unlikely due to its current sucess

are these current cruises sold out because of the destination? the size of the ship? or a combination... do you think princess would consider another ship of this size?

They should use one of those ships for Bermuda. They used to make a lot of money there, with an older ship. With a newer one, they might be more competitive with RCI, or even Celebrity.

PACIFIC PRINCESS will not return to Alaska in 2004.....she'll be doing an "exotic" schedule April 21 through mid-November 2004.....great 20+ day itineraries!

PACIFIC & STAR will be replaced in Alaska by DIAMOND & SAPPHIRE.

The Regal Princess will take over the Pacific Princess Alaska cruises from SFO. The Gran Princess will replace the Regal in Northern Europe.

I don't believe Princess has any ships small enough to do Bermuda... Bermuda has rules against larger ships calling there, and the ship they uesed to use was the old tin can Pacific Princess.

How about Royal or Pacific for Bermuda. These are not too big. Doesn't Carnival have a large ship for Bermuda?

Thanks everyone for the info.
Is there a reason that they transfer the ship to P&O and then transfer back?
I noticed on the P&O website that the prices were roughly double the prices that Princess was advertising for the same sailings (after currency conversion).
I see from the website and from other postings that there are a host of surcharges such as $8.50 for a burger & fries by the pool $6 pizza surcharge etc. Did Princess start something new or is this a "P&O Special"?
