I found three pictures of the COSTA FORTUNA at Costa's site. What do you guys think this ship compared to Carnival's version?

Hi,

I like the looks of this ship although I think that the funnel looks a little big. Also I think that the area on the 9th and 10th decks rear the slide should be painted like on the carnival ships. On the original model this was pinted with the European union flag (I think) and a yellow triangle.

Kevin, thats the same thing that I observed. I think the funnel should be shortened to where the top of the mast meets the top of the funnel. Then they could make the funnel little wider.

I thought it was a blue "C" on yellow?

In all I think the ship looks nicer than the Carnival version. Especially the funnel fits better because the Carnival-funnel is too slim and too high.
The exteriors fit better with Costa while the interiors are too much carnivalized as on the Atlantica and Mediterranea already. But it's still a ship which is simply too large for my taste.

? Will we see her or her sister MAGICA coming to the Caribbean?

That EU flag defiantely looks stupid. It would have been much nicer where it was shown on the original model- on the upper deck triangle-thing.

Also, I think this is the worst rendition of the costa funnel design. It has too much black-pipe-cage-stuff on top... and if the funnel were a bit more narrow it would appear more elegant and sleek.

And let me add- yet again... Oh, how I wish Costa still had clean italian interiors. Now all of their ships have been hit with the Farcus stick. Terrible.

Don't we almost all wish the good old EUGENIO COSTA back with them ...??
It's still my opinion that the EUGENIO has been their nicest ship. She had beautiful lines, real Italian style, crew and food and was equipped with lots of features you'll find back on today's Megaships (the tennis-court for example).
Only her cabins were not always suitable (I remember some 6-bedded cabins without private facilities....)
But all in all an excellent 3-star vessel for great cruise-holidays. And the prices have always been fair.

those pictures were taken a couple of days ago when Costa Fortuna left Genoa shipyard bound to Palermo for a final hull painiting. Unfortunately (yes, the name is not helping at all) she couldn't make it due to a shaft problem.
