Saw this relatively small, probably older, ship docked in Aruba a week ago, the day we returned home. Haven't found anything on any of the boards. Curious as to current status!

She was originally built in 1968 for Wallenius Redeiri of Bremen for service from Sweden to Germany but was almost immediately chartered to Commodore for cruising from Miami. She ran for them as BOHEME until 1986 when she was sold to the Church of Scientology.

She was one of four sisters, the others were FINNHANSA (now PRINCESA MARISSA), FINNPARTNER (now IALYSSOS) and PRINS HAMLET (scrapped as OPI at Aliaga, 2002).

More about all of these ships at Fakta om Fartyg.

Maritime Matters' Peter C. Knego visited FREEWINDS several years ago and reported that she was in excellent condition but was not allowed to take his cameras on board the ship .

Dear friends,

Concerning this ship more information can be found on the following web sites:

http://www.scientology.org/world/worlditl/corp/struc7.htm

http://www.isp-usa.com/fleetinfo/freewi.asp

Apparently inside this "religion" the ship is considered as a floating spiritual church, also promoting themselves world-wide while the ship makes thir spiritual cruises/retirements.

Apparently according to the Scientologist web-site only members can join the ship...on spiritual cruises...!?!?!

Well, I do not know much about this religion, but allow me to congratulate themselves for the splendid condition that they have their " Flagship" because with her age she really looks like splendid!!!

Best regards from Madeira Island
