Can anyone give me names of fictitious cruise ships or ocean liners from books or movies? You can also include a picture of the ship.

There really was a POSEIDON, it was in one of my books. I can't recall which line. But it was small and had one stack. It's going back along time ago.

Both names existed in the Greek mythology.
Poseidon is the Greek name for the word Neptune, the "God of the Sea".
Epirotiki had a ship called Neptune (POSEIDON being written at the back of the ship along with Piraeus...the homeport)
I cant remember a ship called Poseidon but I can suspect that some Greek ferry should be named like that.

William H. Miller's book "German and Dutch Passenger Ships" notes that the Britannic was the name of the liner in the film Juggernaut that was shot onboard the Maxim Gorky (formerly the Hamburg; Hanseatic).

The "Southern Queen" from "THE LADY EVE".

The "Ocean Queen" from that OLD-ass TV series w/Gale Storm.

The "Princess Irene" from "HISTORY IS MADE AT NIGHT".

The "Carlonia" from "FLESH AND FANTASY".

Can you send me a picture of the Argonautica? Also, the Maxim Goriky was used in the film Final Voyage with the same name in juggernaut, Britannic. It's a almost sequel of Juggernaut, the Britannic has been restored for South pacific Cruising. Then bad guys hold the ship hostage for money. Can't tell ya rest, rent it. Tell me what happens

I rented "The Final Voyage" a couple of years ago. I think a couple of other people saw it too.

It's a wretched movie w/cheesy special effects.

Actually in the movie Water World the name of the tanker is Exxon Valdez clearly seen when she goes down. (inside humour) In real live the Exxon ran aground and had an oil spill with terrible results for the environment. The captain of the Exxon was found to be drunk while on duty and by his fault cost the oil spill,

Here is a picture of the real Exxon Valdez (don’t know if they also used the configuration of the real ship for the movie or only the name as a bit of irony)

Best, Onno

Wasn't there a late '60's movie that I think starred at least one of the Beatles [Ringo Starr?] and maybe Peter Sellers that included a ship called something like the "Magic Christian?" [My haziness about this is only because it was more than 30 years ago, not because of anything anyone might have been smoking at the time...]
