Does anyone know anything about the 'yacht' that has turned up in the Royal Victoria Dock and opened as a hotel/restaurant?

From the photo in 'Time Out' a couple of weeks back she looks as if she could have been one of the Renaissance pair, insofar as that these micro-cruise ships are identifiable one from another at all! Presumably this is the venture which was once linked to the Aureol, Amerikanis and latterly Princessa Victoria?

Anyone have a photo? Sounds interesting... One of the litte Ren ships does not sound like a suitable replacement for the other candidates.

Sunborn Yacht Hotel, "the world’s first custom built Yacht Hotel" £99 pn doesn't seem to bad either.

Hmm... I don't think I recognize that ship...

Definitely not one the old Ren vessels. I've got a picture of both types (I-IV and V-VIII) in front of me, and that isn't it...

I think this is bigger. Unfortunately not the best angle for a photo though.

We discussed about this ship ? (she has no engines) already in November 2000 here at CruiseTalk: as you can see...

So, she was used as a floating hotel for the guests of the Naantali Spa, Naantali, Finland, and in summer 2002 was towed to London and we got a new, bigger yacht hotel, the Sunborn Princess to Naantali.

Counting the decks above the waterline (I belief 5 decks) It is clear that it is a small vessel She looks a bid like a breed between Seabourn Pride and Sun Bay I/II. Nice ship I must say.

Interesting... A ship built especially as a floating hotel... With no intention of ever sailing.

I suppose they decided that London was a better spot than Finland!

London wasn´t a better spot, just another spot. The new and bigger floatel will arrive in Naantali in November.

Is the ship really going to be tied up as a hotel or will she also do some trips up the river Thames. It is a small ship but it makes me wonder can she actually pas under the Tower Bridge?

Oh... I somehow assumed that this was the ship from Finland, relocated to London.

The one in Finland will be bigger?

I assume that she will not move, Onno... No engines...

But I suppose she could be towed up and down the river like a barge...
