I recently stumbled across some pictures (on PamM's web site) of Peter Deilmann's Deutcschland, and I realized I've never asked about her here... I've read the "official" TP review that gave a glowing report, and I do admire her interiors, but does anyone have anything else to say about her?

Hahaha... I've read that one before... Karen Segboer always has funny punchlines in her reviews. You can read all of them here. Her husband, Hans, runs The Unofficial Holland America Line Page. Enjoy!
I visited the Deutschland at Dover in 2000 and had a tour and meal onboard. She does not look much from the outside, but wow those interiors! See:

Actually Deilmann is trying to attract some North American clientele. Certain voyages offer free airfare and reduced-price tours (in English). And, as mentioned above, the entire crew is at least bilingual, although I'm looking forward to a chance to practice my German as well.
Yes, Deilmann are certainly trying for American and British in addtion to the traditional German clietele. Very nice. They also have (in addition to their famed river vessels, the best in the world), a sailing ship Lili Marleen, and a smaller traditonal cruise ship Berlin (not marketed outside German-speaking markets). Their US site is here. Their German site, including the small Berlin, is here. They have a UK site but I don't know it offhand.
As an aside, the Concorde airplane that crashed was chartered by Peter Deilmann for passengers who were going to meet Deutschland in New York... Knowing that, it must have been a miserable cruise ...
