A group of us 3 couples, probably 4) are thinking about doing the 10 day Mexican Riviera on the Sun Princess next March.

Have never sailed Princess or done that side of Mexico (have done Cozumel and that side). Our group ranges in age from late 20's to early 50's. We're all mostly Carnival cruisers, but are looking for something different. Is Princess much different from Carnival? Any points of interest for that side of Mexico (Mazatlan, Ixtapa, Puerto Vallarta & Cabo San Lucas)...sailing out of Los Angeles.

Any help or advise would be much appreciated.

This is a great trip! I did this itinerary about 10 years ago on Princess (on one of it's oldest and smallest ships) and it's still one of my favorites. Our group ranged in age from late 30's to late 60's and we all had a ball. There's so much to do in these ports such as parasailing in Puerto Vallarta or dancing on the mantel at Senior Frog's in Mazatlan. In Ixtapa we hired a taxi to give us a private tour. We ended up parking atop some cliffs cranking up the radio and dancing there..... I'm seeing a pattern here, I guess I did have fun. Anyway, It's a wonderful trip, you won't be sorry. As far as Princess vs. Carnival. I've sailed on both and you won't have a problem going from Carnival to Princess. Princess is a bit more upscale but it does have it's share of pool games and activities. Besides, with a group of 3-4 couples you make your own fun. Don't hesitate about it. Had a great time on the Crown...yes, it is an classic ship...although we have traveled on Princess 7 times...

We have cruised the Mexican Riviera twice..once on Carnival and one on the Crown...very nice trip...

We too, have cruised the east side of Mexico three times...all on Princess...
