Anyone going on Costa Atlantica's transatlantic cruise next April (Ft Lauderdale to Genoa).

We've booked and are worried that we are going to be the only English speaking passengers as Costa's brochure hasn't come out here (England).

Also can anyone tell me if Costa Atlantica is as fab as it sounds. We've only been on P&O and Princess ships before. How does Atlantica compare with Grand Princess?

The Costa Atlantica is a wonderful ship that offers great opportunities for cruising. The ship is spectacular ( typical italian style combined with many american touches ) but more coloured than the P&O and Princess' ships. There are many lounges onboard, from the larger ones as the Caruso Theater, spanning on 3 decks, to the more intimate as the two winter gardens and the well equipped library. The cuisine is excellent with many choices of italian and international dishes. There is also a special restaurant, the Club Atlantica. The fitness facilities are superb with 3 pools plus 4 jacuzzis, a tennis camp, and a large gymnasium on two decks ( it includes also a sauna and a turkish bath ).
The passengers of a Costa's transatlantic cruises are mostly Europeans, with many Italians and Frenches on board, and with a loyal following of english speaking passengers ( Americans, Canadians and Britishes ). All the onboard activities and the excursions are in several languages and there is a dicated hostess/host for the english speaking group.
Have an excellent cruise !

Ps: For more informations I suggest to check the Costa's web site: www.costa.it
Where you can take a virtual tour of the ship.

Our family just returned form the Christmas cruise. The ship is lovely and very ornate. Our rooms were very spacious. The food was not particularly good and our children(13 and 14) hated the pizza. This was a shock to us since we had sailed the Victoria 3 years ago. There is also tons of smokers that don't pay attention to nonsmoking areas. There were many English speaking passengers at least 1/3 or more and the staff does announcements in several lanuages. They have a wonderful slide that was only open a total of 3 hours for the whole trip. We have been on Princess(and have sailed 15 cruises on various lines)and thought it was much better run than this ship. Good luck and have a great trip
