What kind of attire do people wear when embarking? I mean do people dress casually, semi formal, or formal.
I will be going on the Rotterdam this Saturday. I have packed my formal attire. I need to know what to attire to pack for embarkation.

Merry Christmas and happy New Year

Thanks Gizmo!

This is my first time on HAL. From what I have read on this BBS, HAL is a very formal. Therefore, I was not sure what to wear during embarkation. I am really looking forward for this cruise. Thanks again Gizmo!

We travel with the most comfortable clothes we have - generally track pants with matching tops. With air flights being mostly 3 - 4 hours, you want to be comfy, and not counting the 2 - 3 hour wait in the airport for the flight.

I agree with Lillian and Gizmo. You have a long flight. Be comfortable - no one cares what you wear that day. Are you flying in the day before?
Have a great time

First night on HAL is always casual, sport shirt and slacks because some cabins may not get their suitcases before early seating dinner. Upon boarding, drop your carry-on bags in your cabin and go right to the Lido buffet where you will get a preview of the food they will serve during the cruise. You picked a great ship for your first HAL cruise. Enjoy.
