The Trellis Restraurant. I would rate it ok. But just ok. The food is so so. The appetizers were unusual but good. My salads were good. The soup was good. Even though I'm not much for soup. My fish was dry. My lobster tasted funny. The Linguine that came with my shrimp was nothing to go on about. The desserts were pretty good. I've eaten at Applebees and liked the food better. For those of you who aren't familar with Applebees. It's a restraurant in the United States that's not too bad. A step above a coffee shop and you can eat there for around $10.00. Give or take a few dollars depending on what you order. The service in the Trellis was fair. To be fair with them I'd have to say they had too many people to serve so the service lacked because of it. We had 1 waiter we liked a lot who we were lucky enough to have twice. Otherwise I liked the busboys better. One had a smile that wouldn't quit who was very anxious to please. I loved the string quartet that played. They were better than the food. The atmosphere was beautiful. It's a 2 story restraurant with a big balcony area on 2 sides up above overlooking a lower area. It had a beautiful staircase ascending to the lower area. The quartet sits in a round area next to the staircase. Their last midnight Buffet was too die for. The food was out of this world with everything your heart desired. Ice Sculptures everywhere. A very breathtaking set up. They let us come in and take pictures & videos just before they opened it that evening. Now lets talk about breakfast. I only ate in the Trellis reatraurant 2 of the mornings. During our time here they forgot 2 things a gal sitting with us ordered. They brought one and never did bring the other. Plus they gave coffee to the gentleman next to me but forgot mine. I had the eggs benedict it was very good. The people we sat with were very nice. The 2nd breakfast. When we first got there several waiters were wandering around with plates of crossiants & danishes. The waiter never approached us with them. Then another couple came to sit with us and they approched them several times. I was just watching to see what would happen. I couldn't believe how dumb these guys were to not see if we wanted any. Finally I mentioned to the people across the table from us what had happened. I told him not to say anything but he did anyway. The waiters were sorry of course. Sure I could've spoke up. But I was having too much fun watching and wondering how long they would take. I had French Toast, scrambled eggs & bacon. I asked for a small amount of eggs and they gave me a ton. The eggs were great!!! The French toast was typical. To me french toast tastes like french toast. But I liked it. The bacon was good too. The rest of the time we had breakfast in the cafeteria style restraurant called The Oceanview Grill / Cafe. This is where we ate the rest of our breakfasts & most of our lunches at. That is if we didn't skip lunch and just have a late snack since our dinner was at 8:30 pm all nights but one. This is a self serve type of restraurant. There are many choices here for breakfast, snacks & lunch. You could even get dessert here. The food was pretty good for a cafeteria style place. For breakfast the scrambled eggs were ok but a little soggy. I think they just undercook them a little so they won't dry out as easily. You could have an omelet made here. I never tried them. They had all kinds of fruits, pastries, oatmeal, cream of wheat etc. The seating area was beautiful with big glass bay windaow to look out of. There was this one time that I set down some papers on a table to save it and went to get coffee. I was only gone for 2 minutes. By the time I got back the waiter had stolen my papers off the table. What the heck is with these guys? So I went to the head honcho. I did get my papers back and the table was still there but what the heck is with these guys? Many of them stand around doing nothing. They have pots of coffee & water but do they refill your water or coffee? They didn't ours. So I guess they're just there to steal your breakfast and papers. More to come.....

Great stuff. Question, who winds you up, and who throws the off switch

I'm only telling it as I see it. The waiters wind me up when the service stinks. I sit back watch and take it from there. I'm only reporting to those that may be interested. There are those that haven't been on the Infinity that might like to know what it's like. Hopefully there are some things the Infinity staff could learn from this..... They may or may not agree with my comments but.

Topgun: Nobodys perfect & I could say the same about you. If you don't like what I have to say don't read it.

Please don't stop Oneredwon - I get such a kick out of your posts.

You have a great turn-of-phrase, for example
"I loved the string quartet that played,they were better than the food".

We need posts that make us laugh, makes a change from all the serious stuff.

Topgun: What did you mean about the switch? Maybe you hit too close to home. I do tend to get wound up at times. After all I'm a redhead.

My worst meals on ships have been in the main dining room for breakfast. Those platters of pastries! How can some of the staff be so lethargic when I saw other staff being very energetic in the disco the night before?

Maybe they are one and the same - that would explain it!

I am impressed that you were up and ready for breakfast in the dining room. I usually only make it the last morning when they kick you out of your cabin early. On port days I rush around in the morning getting ready to get off the ship as soon as possible! Also I am not up to stimulating conversation with new people until at least two cups of bad cruise ship coffee I usually have a fruit platter and a cookie sent up, with a double order of coffee. Tell us more!

Oneredwon, you asked earlier about my reference to an on/off switch. Sorry for the delay, here goes;

In an earlier existence I was married to a lady who talked non stop.

When she had left after many years together, a friend asked me how I had put up with this non stop talk for so long. On reflection, I had to admit that it didnt bother me because I eventually "tuned out" most of the time.

His reply was "Why didn"t you instal an on/off switch on her?" Does this explain my comment to you?

Please don"t ask for an explanation of "tune out". Seriously, you are injecting some really entertaining posts. I hope you find time to continue.

I thought that's what you were saying. I understand what tune out means. I do not talk non stop. However sometimes I have trouble getting to the point. That's something I'm working on. If I'm wrong about something I will also admit it. Have a nice day.
