Welcome on board, Kate. Hurrah another Canadian.
If you click on "Reader Reviews" under "Reviews" to the left of this column, there are some reviews there. I only read the latest and the writer gave it a 4 Star. He seemed to think it was first rate.
It appears it is a small ship, but the value is very good.
Good Luck

I have been on Sundream twice recently.
Both times, there were periods when there was no air conditioning in the cabins.

The ship has also experienced problems with its waste disposal system. There are areas in the ship where the smell is very noticeable.

Otherwise, if these problems are ignored, the ship offers good itineraries and good value for money. The passenger mix of mainly British and Canadian is very enjoyable. We personally decided not to sail on Sundream again because we found the sewage smell very objectionable.

Given the alternative, I would take Sunbird anytime. It may cost a little more but it is well worth it.

Hi Kate
I was on the Carousel in Jan '99 with a large family/friends group. What disappointed me with this cruise was the staff. The waiters on the Lido deck literally tried to see who could crash the dishes louder. We never saw any head waiter etc. intervene. The other complaint would be the food at breakfasts and lunches, again, on the Lido deck. Dinner was lovely. The mix of passengers was great.

It would have to be a VERY good price for me to consider this line again. I just think, especially at this time, that there are a lot of sales in other lines that offer a HUGE difference for not that much more money. You just have to check around.
That said, the itineraries, as Topgun mentioned, are very good. Also enjoyed the Sky Service. Their staff was great. I also agree that the Sunbird does seem to receive much more favourable reviews.
