We stayed at the Wyndham Old Juan before our cruise last Christmas and I was not pleased with the service. Would never stay there again, and it was expensive.
At the left hand side of these posts, under "Forums" you will find "Hotel Talk". Check in there to find a Hotel.

Try the Condado Plaza Hotel. We used to offer it in combination with a cruise on Celebrity Cruises' ships to stay prior or after the sailing. We never had any problems with it.

We stayed in San Juan a few years ago before a cruise with our kids. I am dissapointed in the overall cleanliness of the city. The amount you pay for a hotel has nothing to do with what you expect for the money.
We stayed at the Days Inn in San Juan and it was clean but very small rooms. Usually a Comfort Inn or such is realiable. Have a great cruise.

We stayed at the Intercontental Hotel. It is conveniently located near the airport and on a lovely beach. The room was great.

It is extremely expensive, more than a Marriott resort in Fort Lauderdale.

The Old San Juan Wyndham is very nice but you have to go on line and atempt a package. Otherwise it's extremely expensive. Food prices are extreme. When my wife and I were there last year we ate most of our meals other places such as in Old San Juan.

We stayed at a Comfort Inn (sorry I can't think of the actual name)in the Condando beach area. In fact it was just across the street from the beach by the Convention Center. Mind you it was not a ***** resort but it was clean, good service and between the Entertainment card and senior discount it was EXTREMELY reasonable. There were several good restaurants within walking distance and a car rental place I think right across the street. Come a couple of days early and explore the island. There's a lot to see. The hotel wasn't more than 10 minutes by taxi from the pier and maybe 20 minutes from the airport... very convienent.

Have a great time.

Joan
