Aloha everyone.

Just wanted to drop a quick note to let everyone know my wife and I have returned (actually we got back Thursday morning, but we're still trying to catch up on the time change, clogged ears and a cold) from our Carnival cruise aboard the Spirit through the Hawaiian islands.

As soon as I get my east coast legs back under me I will do an in-depth review, but all in all it was an absolutely fabulous trip. I know I'll probably get some pretty severe arguements from some of the other "older" passengers on board and I will agree that Carnival definitely has some bugs to work out taking a ship that large through the islands, but for their first time through, I thought they did the best they could. Hopefully they'll learn from the mistakes that were made on this trip and they won't be repeated on future cruises.

Anyway, the islands were gorgeous, the weather spectacular, the ship is huge and beautiful and the crew was top notch and very friendly. It was the first vacation (cruise or otherwise) that neither my wife nor I wanted to come home. After seeing the islands, we are more convinced than ever that this is where we want to retire...if not move there sooner.

As I said, as soon as I recover, a more in-depth review will be posted under reader reviews.

Welcome Home. So glad you enjoyed your cruise to Hawaii. Been there twice on HAL ships and would love to go back. The islands certainly are beautiful. We were very fortunate as we have a friend who lives in Honolulu and she drove us up the coast and we saw so much more than if we had been on an excursion. Next time she said we will have to do the other coast - up to where the surfers are.

Hi Billybob:
I went to look for you the second night out in the sports bar but didn't find you. I was not a happy camper with the way they handled the tender parts on this cruise. I have been tendered before and have never had so many problems. I did not think it was a very good cruise at all but, everyone is entitled to their opinions, most of the staff were very nice, but as for some of the parts it was awful. They need to work out many bugs before they do another cruise to those islands. We got the opinion the captain was afraid of the ship, and if we heard Dave here one more time we were going to throw him overboard. Sorry to have missed you, but glad you had a good time. I will check out my next cruise very carefully and make sure they really do know what they are doing. Sure was not a "Fun Ship" this time.
