I was curious about the Coral Princess. Can any of you tell me when and where she will be sailing?

Coral Princess will begin sailing in Oct 2002, and she will do 10 roundtrip cruises to the Panama Canal from Ft. Lauderdale through the winter before going to Alaska for the Summer of 2003. Princess has released very little about the ship, really only one picture, but I have a new brochure on order that should arrive next week that will include her deck plans and hopefully more pics.

CORAL PRINCESS
A passenger vessel bearing this name operated in S.E.Asia in the 90's. Whilst briefly in command Captain Philip Rentall (ex QE2 navigator) found himself with a murder on his hands. An engineer fitter was
battered to death in his bunk. The culprit/s never brought to justice. The facts are related in Rentell's book "Not Yet!..Ruminations of a Passenger Ship Captain" Strange choice of name therefore
by Princess but does anyone out there know
what became of the ship to which I refer ?

There was another Coral Princess (China Navigation Co.- Hong Kong).
Former names : Cora Princess and originally Princesa Leopoldina (1962).
Currently being scrapped alongside with Amerikanis in Alang, India.
Odysseus (Royal Olympic) is her sister ship.

Here is a picture of the new coral princess from the princess web site:

The strange funnel design is due to the incorporation of gas turbine engines into the funnel. These effeciant, clean burning, engines will be used in environmentally sensitive areas like Alaska. The funnel will have two pod-like cyliners on top (looking like pontoons or cannons) that will house the turbines. I should have more info about the design by next week.
