Time must be drawing near, when do you leave for your Norway cruise??? We will be in Greenock Sep 14 to see her in the Clyde, it will be a pretty awesome sight no doubt.

Bon Voyage anyway and have a wonderful cruise....

Oh! Norway clients on this board eh???

You could have owned up when Kruzinkat asked a couple of weeks ago!

Its Speedbird 207 on Saturday to Miami unless you are a NYC boarder.

The whole thing is a highlight, but the tears will be in my eyes when we sail past the Cloch lighthouse again, twenty four years and two days since we last did it on a turbine - in the dead of night on the old QMII with six of us round the piano and the strains of We're no awa to stay awa!

Shame that neither Waverley or Balmoral will be anywhere to meet us!

Malcolm do you know about :- NORWAY_FAREWELL@yahoogroups.com

Very useful with about sixty five memebers who will be on board.

Sorry folks, I missed this post! Thanks for the well wishes.

My wife and I fly from London Heathrow to Miami, on saturday 1st September, with British Airways. Obviously I'm looking forward to the cruise, but not the 9 hours of economy class syndrome.

Joe has asked me to post some live updates to cruisetalk, from the ship. This has pleased my wife, in fact she said: "good, I will be able to read my book in peace while you play with the Internet!"

If you live in the U.K. near Southampton, Greenock or Dun Loaghaire, you MUST go and see this historic ship. t might be your last chance?

Southampton has a public viewing gallery, they will also run boat trips from the Marina to view her.

Message me quickly, if you need times/dates of her ports of call.

I got onto their web site, got a telephone number cos they dont do web allocations, but the number comes back unobtainable!!!

I'm going to e-mail them - let me know how you go on - see you on a 747 on Saturday morning???

Hello Malcolm et al,
I'm looking forward to joining the ship in NY, but previous to that, I'll be shopping for suitable clothes. Any suggestions for what to bring?
PS, it'll be a little different from sailing the Pacific on a container ship last month!

Hmmm...a difficult one! I suppose the East Coast of America and Canada will be rather warm, but by the time we get to back to Europe it may well be cool, raining or even cold?

Shorts and an overcoat, maybe?

MALCOLM - Halifax was 20C and St. John's 18C, today. By the time you arrive there it will probably be cooler. We did the Canada/New England cruise the end of August and found that we needed a jacket when we were at sea and it was quite cool in some of the ports, especially Gaspe. You won't need an overcoat, but take a light jacket/windbreaker.
Here's a web site for Canada www.weatherofffice.ec.gc.ca/canada_e.html

Have a great time
Diane

The itinerary of this trip would be of interest to many posters - we could then follow your journey.

For your Atlantic crossing I'd suggest a warm sweater/jumper/pullover - it can be chilly up on deck.

Bon Voyage to all who are sailing!

Bon Voyage, everyone! Oh how I wish that I were going with you.

Dress warm for the North Atlantic; it can be quite chilly and damp.

God-speed,
F.X.

Thanks Pam. Joe has asked me to post some updates, so I will. They will either be brief or I will write an entire on-line novel! (If I could afford the on-line time!)

I'd better go to bed. Just finished packing...it's 2.00am in the morning here!

I've got lots of Braemar questions to ask you when I return! Please do write a full review!
