Ok here's one for you. (Joe at Travel Page) Now I need to see artist renditions or photos of a model of the new Carnival Conquest. I thought that it was a stretched version of the Destiny class ships, but my local Carnival contact hasn't a clue. Any takers?

The Conquest is pretty much a Destiny-class ship - sort of. It will be the first of the stretched Destiny-class ships, which Carnival is now referring to as a whole new class of ships, the Conquest-class. After construction was begun, Carnival decided to add 60 feet to the length making room for about 100 more cabins and several onboard features. This ship, as with the Destiny-class, will NOT be built to standards which can fit through the Panama Canal.
Carnival Conquest will be homeported in New Orleans for 7-day western Caribbean cruises beginning December 1, 2002. Her inaugural will be a special 4-day cruise from New Orleans on November 27.
As far as any pictures yet, I dont know of any thats floating around althought I dont expect it too really look any different than The Triumph & Victory. (other than being 60 foot longer)

She will be about 110,000 grt. About 9,000 tons larger than the Destiny-class ships, or about the same size as the Grand Princess/ Golden Princess.

Isn't one of Carnival's newbuilds weighing in at around 140,000 tons? Which ship is that?
