Just got back from a one week western Caribbean cruise on the Century. I submitted a review day before yesterday but as of a few minutes ago, it still hadn't been posted.

As virtually all of my previous crusing has been with HAL, the review contrasts my Celebrity experience with HAL. When the review comes on line, I'd welcome your reactions and comments.

Your review is posted now, and makes interesting reading. How does Celebrity compare to HAL in terms of cost, also what is the tipping policy on Celebrity.Thanks.

Glencoe: I would say the cost of a seven day Celebrity cruise and the same cruise on HAL are very similar, at least in terms of the "book price" -- which, of course, nobody pays! My feeling is that if you don't mind a slightly younger, but still upscale crowd and a few more kids than you would find on HAL and can get a deal with Celebrity -- go for it!

Celebrity has the more traditional tipping policy and provides you with envelopes for distribution on the last night. They recommend $3.50 per person per day for your cabin steward and the same for your waiter and smaller amounts for the assistant waiter, etc. No tipping is required for the bar servers or wine steward as an automatic 15% is tacked on your bill at the time of purchase.
