I'm curious: What was your favorite food on a cruise and on what ship did have it? It could be an appetizer, an entree, dessert or an entire meal. Sometimes I like simple foods like burgers and others I really enjoy fine dining. On the Norway last year, I remember in particular one apperizer we had at dinner, some very tasty escargot. It had just the right amount of garlic and butter.
Also, I dont' know the correct name for this, very thinly sliced raw beef (YUM). They also did it with Veal, but I prefer the cow!

As much as people love to eat on cruises, I can't believed no one has an opinion about a favorite meal. I don't favorite ever, just something you really enjoyed aboard ship.
How about it, what did you like?

In the early 80's RCL use to have a sause they put on their steaks. I don't know the name and as I recall it was kind of orange. Just went on RCI this past winter and they did not offer it. Kevin

Perhaps I have plebeian tastes. I enjoy most meals on board. Truly can't recall having had anything to rave about. Guess I'm in the 'eat to live' category.

I do know that I hate mint jelly with lamb -
I now take my own mint sauce on all cruises. - surprisig how many of our tablemates wish to share when it appears.

The thin sliced beef is called "Carpacio". (sp?) I first had it on one of the HAL ships and always order it when it is on the menu, but I think the first time was the best - they had a garlic oil for dipping and it was delicious.
One of my favourite meals on HAL is Osso Bucco. I also like anything Chef Wolfgang makes, but I know that some folks think his German food it too heavy, but at least it has a good taste.
