Sometimes I like simple foods like burgers and others I really enjoy fine dining. On the Norway last year, I remember in particular one apperizer we had at dinner, some very tasty escargot. It had just the right amount of garlic and butter. Also, I dont' know the correct name for this, very thinly sliced raw beef (YUM). They also did it with Veal, but I prefer the cow!
The thin sliced beef is called "Carpacio". (sp?) I first had it on one of the HAL ships and always order it when it is on the menu, but I think the first time was the best - they had a garlic oil for dipping and it was delicious. One of my favourite meals on HAL is Osso Bucco. I also like anything Chef Wolfgang makes, but I know that some folks think his German food it too heavy, but at least it has a good taste.
