We are looking to cruise with Crown Odyssey later in the year, wonder if anyone has had a cabin on Lido deck with obstructed views. How obstructed are they?? What can you see from the window??
Thank you

Debra, we cruised on the Crown Odyssey about 4 years ago when it was the Norwegian Crown. We got a last minute deal and was put on the Lido deck. We were lucky as our room was between two life boats, but most of the rooms had a life boat directly in front of the window. They could not look straight out but they could look down, up at the sky and sometimes to the left or right of the lifeboat. Our room also had a small bath tub. We have booked inside and outside rooms and we always enjoy both as we spend very time in our rooms looking out the window.

Have a good cruise and I know you will enjoy whatever you are assigned. Good Luck - BG

gohaze: Your voyage sure looks inviting, and the ship too. Have a wonderful trip; I'm sure we all look forward to a few of your comments regarding this ship. Ever since seeing Crown Odyssey in Barbados many years ago, I have looked forward to sailing aboard her. Her success seems to insure that she will be sailing the oceans of the world for years to come, so perhaps I will get an opportunity. Bon voyage.

Am I missing something - there isn't anything on this forum "Crown Odyssey" by Debra Meredith about Gohaze going on a cruise! Is there something missing or is it somewhere else? Peter, where are you going and when?

Grant and I were on another subject...but yes, we leave Thursday for Auckland to join the Crown. From there up through the Islands to Hawaii and across to LA. 33days. Kind of looking forward to seeing her again, as we did a couple of cruises on her back when she was Royal Cruise Line. Understand the Orient crew has had to put in an awful lot of hard work to get her back up to scratch after the neglect she suffered with NCL...at least she's back doing what she was designed for, world wide cruising.
AMOI...I really won't ever forget that ship, as she was the one I was taken off to hospital in Madiera where I spent a month flat on my back before they could repat me...another story, but a real ad for why you should never travel without insurance.
....peter

Thanks Peter - now I understand. Have a wonderful trip - it sounds fantastic. Royal was a great line - never sailed on it myself, but have friends who sailed on Royal ships all the time and my mother did once. Very upscale I hear.
You are so right re insurance - never leave home without it. Thank goodness my husband and I always took it as when he passed away suddenly I got all my money back for a cruise we had booked

Was considering a cruise to the Mediterranean in May 2001 booking an inside cabin on the Laguna deck. Any information concerning the size of the cabins would be appreciated.
