I wouldn't recommend the front of the ship either. We like the inside cabin on the main deck near the elevators. A little more, but everything is right there.
Inside cabins to represent good value and on most modern ships they are the same size as the basic outside grade.

I realize that any ship can sink but it's not something I think about or, for that matter, have thought about when booking a cruise. I'm a fatalist!
The journey to the port is always more risky than the cruise!
(And I have no interest in the manufacturer!)
They also come in very handy when you try to sleep on the plane on the way to port....they block out the sound of screaming babies from several rows away.

Malcolm - you don't know how true that is - Hwy 401 in Toronto to get to the airport can be a real problem....like getting to LHR or Gatwick! Been there - done that!
