Hey guys...

Remember sometime last year someone posted the website for the new US owned cruise line seaamerica.com . Well now they have more pics. She is not as handsome as she was in the original pics, but certainly better looking than most of the ships out there today.

What do you all think?

Don't like the picture of the cabin - it looks very sterile, like a hotel room. The picture of the grand staircase was very impressive, but do you really think they can put that into a 47,000 ton ship?

Wow, America goes from famine to feast. Just a few short months ago there was only the S.S.INDEPENDENCE at sea. Now there's the PATRIOT along with Project America and SeaAmerica in the works. It's wonderful that American flagged passenger vessels are making a comeback!

Like the AMERICAN QUEEN, which designwise harkens back to the palmy days of Mississippi River steamboating, the SeaAmerica newbuilding's interiors sure echos the glory days of ocean transit. Bravo! Aesthetically these ships might be the finest going. From plush public spaces to terraced decks on the stern, stepping down to a nice moulded fantail, these ships might be the ideal way to see America and the world.

sympatico, they probably could do it. After all, look at what they were able to do with the Titanic. It almost reminds me of pictures I've seen of the SuperStar Leo.

But I do agree that the cabin is rather sterile. It looks like an office, but then again, I believe that's what their primary target market is anyway - business conferences on the high seas.

I checked out their site. They are really setting up for the corporate meeting market. It could prove to be very successful. With the US flag the cost can be deductable for tax purposes. Can not do that without the US flag. They don't say where it will operate. I would guess the East Coast or Carribean.

Rex: The URL you posted does not come up as of this day and hour.

BUT there is now a comprehensive web site at
seaamerica.com per the posting below.

Now if the speakers at meetings can keep their audiences awake after doses of dramamine, the conferences will be a success.

I once did documentary filming on a seaborne conference aboard the old Bergensfjord to Bermuda. It was a roughish day, and I noted, from the podium, that literally,EVERY ONE of the audience was asleep while the speakers droned on. I could not use any of the footage of the audience!

Perhaps newer nostrums are better?

Why so strange? Is this cruise line real in the world? Or is a cruise fans's impression...
