Have booked a cruise with Explorer of the Seas in December.

The early sitting (which we have always had) is booked. I was wondering why cruisers like the late sitting. Might try for a change.

Also the flights out of Miami are all booked, and we have a 7:00 p.m. flight back home. Is there any tours we can take in Miami.

Lillian,
we usually go second sitting and can undersatnd why people appreciate the less hurried dinner. However, last cruise we felt it too late and I hardly ate anything, so our next in Oct to Venice we are having a change,. I know our teenage daughter will be pleased as she often complains about getting late to the disco !! Mark.

Welcome aboard Southampton. Lillian, if you have spent a full day ashore, getting back to the ship and changed and showered for a 6.30 sitting can be a rush. My wife and I therefore prefer the later sitting.

If you enjoy watching the ship leave the ports you will have plenty of time to do so. I think this is one of the high spots of cruising. Also, if you are enjoying the company at your table you may find you can linger longer as the waiters will not need to get you out of the dining room so quickly.

Late seating does give you the chance to unwind after being on the islands all day. Also some ships lower the table minimums on Blackjack in the casino. It is a great time to make use of the casino, not as crowded as later. And it is a more leisurely dinner.
