No! Because although women can navigate and streer the ship well, they just can't park it!

Malcolm - well here's one gal who could do a better job of parking than hubby could, that is with my previous car - wouldn't say the same about my new car.
Rex - how true. Why is it a man will not ask for directions no matter how lost they are?
Don't know the answer to "are there any woman captains out there". Probably not - how many men would take directions/commands from a woman?

My problem is that most ladies that I know stop in mid sentence and assume that I can guess the ending.
This would not be a good way to con a megaliner.

Holland America had some female deck officers a few years ago - one presumes they are working their way up in rank. The doors to officership opened late, so assuming it takes twenty years of seagoing experience before being entrusted with a cruise ship, and assuming the doors opened in the seventies, we should begin to see female captains getting appointed over the next five to ten years.
