I will be taking my Mom, confined to a wheelchair, on the Canada/New England Splendour of the Seas cruise in October. I would like to hear your thoughts on this cruise ship and the Canada/New England itinerary. I do suspect that we will have to bring along some warm clothes! Many thanks.

Don't know anything about the ship, but have cruised Canada/New England on another ship.
What ports will you be visiting?
No problem in Quebec City, except it is very hilly and doubt that you would be able to push a wheelchair up the hills. Best to take a cab.

When did this cruise last Oct on the Splendour. We had very windy weather - really couldn't use the decks much, in fact
couldn't walk outside because of the wind. On the way back from Quebec we got into a North Atlantic winter storm - it was a dandy. Waves up to 65ft and winds over 90knots. This lasted for over 24 hours. I will say the ship handled it magnificantly. Other than that, loved the ship, the itinerary, and the captain is a jewel, very personable man.

Can't tell you about the cruise you are taking, but I loved the ship. It was big enough to find quiet places and small enough to recognize other passengers. Try the mini golf -- was a lot of fun!!!

We travelled on the Splendour to Norway and had a great time. The ship is beautiful and reasonably good for disabled access - plenty of elevators to move you around and good viewing from the areas for wheelchairs in the showroom. There were quite a number of wheelchair-bound people on our trip as well as a blind person with a guide dog.

My observations of RCI crew in dealing with this was good - they couldn't have done more to assist people and were very helpful.

Have a great time!!
