First Images of Pacific Sky, I believe they are computer generated as she is still in her Sky Princess Colours, but it gives you an Idea of what she will look like - a lot nicer then what she looks like as Sky Princess.

A great ship for Australia - we disserve it, now all we need is our own Cunard, Carnival, HAL, NCCL etc... and we will have a booming industry Australia is a great cruise destination - you should try and make a cruise one in Australia.

Chris.

Good job, P&O !!! At least another line which tries to be a bit more creative about ship´s colors and which worked out to be real nice ones too.

I was recently aboard the Sky Princess, and she is in wonderful condition. Obviously she was well built to start with, and has been lovingly cared for over the years. The teak decking is as good as new. No signs of wear anywhere. A great ship that will serve the travel public very well. Happy sailing.

Malcolm-a photo shop job for sure. Sky Princess was in port last Monday, and she is still in Princess colours. I'll check her on Friday, but I know she has not been to drydock in the last 9 days!

I have the first brochure put out for her. There she is just white with a white funnel with blue top. Basically identical colors as Sky Princess minus the Princess logo. I was hoping something more distinctive would be chosen-

She is a great ship. I sailed on her to Alaska in 1984 during her inaugural season as Fairsky- and then again to Mexico in 1985. I hope she has a long life in Australia.

The Pacific Sky has one very interesting characteristic - she was the last big liner to be built with steam turbines. I heard that when she was built in 1984, Sitmar (the original owner) did not have any experience of diesels as all their ships were steam powered - so they stuck with steam. I haven't travelled on her but it would be interesting to see how smooth she is compared to more modern ships. She is the first modern ship to be in the South Pacific for P&O for some time - her predecessor is the Fair Princess and before that was the Fairstar - both '50's ships. P&O kept Fairstar running right to the very end - she was mechanically exhausted at the end and had some hull corrosion. It was only the cancelled sale of Fair Princess to Regency that allowed her replacement. It appears that the arrival of Norwegian Capricorn Line has finally spurred them into putting a more modern ship down here.
