I have been on both, my choice would be the Grand Princess, she is truly GRAND! The Voyager is a nice ship but I would chose the Grand Princess, classier, better size cabins, food and entertainment are better. Whichever you chose, I'm sure you'll enjoy.

I sailed on Voyager's May 14th cruise and found it to be an absolutely wonderful cruising experience. We had a category C room on 10th deck. It had a king-size bed, large sitting area, a walk in closet, and plenty of moving-around room. Words cannot do this ship justice. I talked to 2 other couples who had sailed Grand Princess, and they said she was really nice, but that the Voyager was in a class to herself...I don't think you will be disappointed no matter which ship you choose. Have a great time!!!

Voyager is less ugly on the out side then Grand... Grand's Observation deck looks like the wind spoilers they put on racing cars...

I think Voyager looks like a nicer ship, but I have never been on them so - I can't really help - sorry.

I can't talk about the Voyager because I never was on it. But, the Grand is wonderful . It is a big ship with a small ship feel because everyone knows you. The ship is gorgeous and the crew are awesome.

Pungpui, why not compare prices and let your 'pocket' make the choice!

Also check the passenger review section of this web page.

(Biggest is not always best, there are lots of nice ships operating in the Caribbean. Don't forget 'Destiny'if you still want BIG!)

Thanx for the help!
but i've already been aboard Carnival Destiny and i love it but i haven't been aboard Grand or Voyager. I've been on basically all the carribean ships one could think of still cruising today!
And also money is not an issue
well to me that is!
so i've chosen to go both.

I have been on both ships and I don't see any comparison at all.

For starters, Grand Princess is poorly engineered. We had a loud creeking sound in our deluxe outside cabin with a balcony. When they finally moved us 3 days into the cruise, the new room also had a slight creek. At least I was able to sleep in the new room however.

I think the entertainment on Voyager is head and shoulders above Grand Princess. When we sailed Princess they had some washed up hack comedian who has been milking the same routine for literally 30 years (at least). To make matters worse, his wife was riding his coat-tails and was allowed to perform her own show. Voyager had Ben Vereen! RCL's original shows are also a cut above.

Voyager wins hands down in several other areas as well. Grand Prin is designed to give the feel of a smaller ship which I did not care for. If you want a smaller ship, book one. The deck had these annoying barricades to walk around and getting around the ship was difficult realtively speaking.

Voyagers design, even though, it is a huge ship, is very easy to learn your way around.

As far as the food, everyone we spoke to on the Grand Princess was unanimously disappointed. The Voyager's food was not the best either but it was slightly better. People we spoke to

Jasonalec,
I remember that comedian on Grand...hehehe. I agree with you about the ship's layout. It took awhile to learn, I remember walking down what I thought was a main hallway and then the next thing I new I was in the middle of the Painted Desert dining room with all the waiters looking at me like I was crazy.

How loud was that creeking sound? Was it in your cabin or outside. Every ship I have been on has had some type of creeking sound in the cabin.

Granted most ships have some slight noises but the Grand Princess was the worst I have heard. Enough to keep me from sleeping. I have it recorded on my video camera, if you want I can send you a sound file with it.

Princess is really selling itself short by promoting that floating tub as its flagship.

The entertainment on the Grand was far superior than the Voyager. The Grand had a hypnotist on that was the funniest show I've ever seen. He did two shows and one was funnier than the other. Certainly was no Ben Vereen on the Voyager when we were on it, basically the typical Vegas show stuff. The ice skating show was good.
