My wife and I are thinking of taking a cruise on the Norwegian Sky later this year. I have read that NCL has had some financial problems and has been sold to another cruise line. I know many of you out there are very familiar with the cruise travel business and I would like your opinion as to the health of NCL. Would it be safe to book a cruise on this line this year or early next year without the fear that NCL may not be in business or that we would loose our deposit.
Also any comments on the SKY would be appreciated.
Thanks, Really enjoy all the comments, I read them every night.

I think that NCL is probally more secure now than in the last couple of years. I would not hessitate to book a cruise on one of their ships. We have not been on the sky, but have been on the Sea and the Wind. Thought the food was good to exellent. Service was great. Did not like the entertainment on the Wind, the Sea was great. Overall a good cruise line.

As someone said on this board "there are no bad cruises"

I was just on the Norwegian Sky in March on a seven day Western Caribbean cruise. Great cruise. Good Food, service and beautiful clean ship. I would go on her again in a second! Well run outfit. No mistakes in any of our arrangements.

I think that NCL are as safe as most cruise lines. I'm told that their cruises are very good value.

My husband and I were booked on the Sky to the Western Carribean in December. The only reason we changed our plans was because we wanted to sail on the Norway once more before they change her itinerary. We are definitely planning on the Sky next year, everything I've heard about her is fabulous!
Go for it!

My best friend was on the Sky last Jan. It was his first cruise and he really liked it. His opinions positively reflected the newness and cleanliness of the ship.

I have read good reviews on the Sky. Everyone thought it was a beautiful ship. The one complaint was the cabins are very small and closet and drawer space was lacking, compared to other new ships. I have read where the suites should not be called suites do to size.
