On the opening page, click at the top as directed. There are shots of the exterior, interior, a cabin, and some miscellaneous.

But most of all, there is a shot of the guitars that are supposed to be UN-HAL like.

I am a HAL alumni and the guitars don't bother me. They may be worth looking at. On the Veendam there are about 6 wonderful Indian Headdresses - they are absolutely beautiful. Now what these have to do with cruising, I don't know, but they are worth looking at. In the Ocean & Cruise News I received today, they said the guitars are signed by famous musicians, such as the Rolling Stones, David Bowie and Iggy Pop and others.

I saw a picture of the guitars and they are displayed in a glass case like other pieces of art on HAL.

At least they're real guitars, and not some oversized pop-art replicas, like you might see on some Carnival ships. Although, I do wonder what the point of the Egyptian sarcophagus is.

Nice group of photos! The teak promenade looks like a lovely spot to while away part of an afternoon. As for the guitars and sarcophagus, I guess they are there as art work. Most ships have quite a variety, and guitars take a lot of skill and art to create, just as historical bits from the past. I think it adds to the experience - gives everyone something to enjoy looking at during their week or so at sea. Of course, there are also things we scratch our heads at, but that's OK.
