The Sagittarius has touches of the Grand Princess and Voyager in her. I think they look good. Surely Star Cruises can't possibly keep all these mega liners in the Asia Pacific area. Will they move into the Meditteranean or Caribbean anytime soon?

MagnmPI,
STAR CRUISES's fleet will not move into Caribbean or Meditteranean in the future. Because ASIA-Pacific is a new and big cruise market, many citizen haven't travel by cruise before. Such as China, Philippines, Myanmar, India, Indonesia....etc.

In the future, NCL's small ships maybe tranferr to STAR CRUISES's fleet.

So STAR CRUISES will go on to build more and larger cruise line for ASIA-PACIFIC to develop this new & big market.

MagnmPI now that you brought it up,I see the Grand's stack and the aft end of the Voyager.
I don't think anybody could top the Voyagers centrum's,and dining room in my opinion.

I'm sure that one, or both, of these designs could be easily adapted to the US cruise market for NCL. Now that Star is an owner, and given that NCL needs ships that can compete with RCI, Princess, and Carnival- may we be looking at the future fleet of NCL? I hope so.

"Sagittarius-class" looks nice. Why did they painted the front of SuperStar Taurus to white? It looked so great when it was black.

I like "Sagittarius-class" so much, the design is very modern, many big windows..... She also have the observation lounge on the top of the ship...such as RCCL's ship.

But I have a big question, "Sagittarius-class" are high and very long. Why they only 112,000grt??
They seem larger than Voyager of the Seas, Right?

I like the SAGITTARIUS really much. She has a fantastic bow; downwards oblique and VERY long. She'll be truly a beautiful ship!

The thing I don't like is the LIBRA's stern, because, once again, that's the box type...

Eric, Sagittarius-class' ships aren't so wide than Voyager of the Seas, so maybe that could be one reason why the grt is smaller.

Lapting,
According some STAR CRUISES inner news. In the first year 2003, SuperStar Sagittarius will be based in Singapore and cruise to Thailand, Malaysia. Than in 2004 or 2005, she will be based in Hong Kong and cruise to China.
I think she can dock in Asia-Pacific's main cruise port such as Kobe (Japan), Bangkok (STAR CRUISES TERMINAL in Thailand), Port Klang (STAR CRUISES TERMINAL in Malaysia), Singapore, Hong Kong. These place's port facilities are very good and some of them are world class cruise ship terminal.

Great photo's!

I think that the new ships look okay, they are very modern, and a lot better looking then some of the new ships coming out!

Cunard's new ship - QM2 looks better because she is more classic looking, Like QE2. Have to say that the Cunarder's, QE2, QM2 and Caronia are the beauties of the sea, but the Star Cruises new ships look nice for modern design ships. I like the Leo.
