I wonder if anyone has experienced the 'new service' offered by Premier. Also the IslandBreeze is being remaned - Big Red Boat III - has anyone sailed the IslandBreeze lately? And any opinions on Premier. Thank you for all replies.

Don't know about Premier's 'new service' but was interested in the comments of a friend just back from a Dawn Princess cruise - comparing it with Premier's Rembrandt in the Med.,, Dawn's food was extremely bland and repetitive - the music was too loud - and there was a 'stuffy nose, scratchy throat' bug on board!

I have just returned from a cruise aboard Premiers "Seabreeze". The ship was in very good shape for an old vessel. I think Premier is trying to create an image that is simply not going to work. The robes were a nice touch, but this is still an economy cruise line. We found the food high on presentation, and lacking substance. I became tired of looking at decorations on my plate, and yearned for a decent meal by the end of the week. We paid very little for our cruise, so we felt we got our monies worth. This cruise line is not in any way comparable to Royal Caribbean, or even Carnival. The activities were very limited, and the shows were not of the caliber of the big ships. If they keep offering cruises in the $300.00 dollar range, then they may succeed, but if anyone pays anymore than that, they may be sorely disappointed. If this is the "new service", I would hate to see the old.

$300? Is that all? How long did that cruise last and did it include flights etc? The reason I am wondering is that my friends booked a last minute week on the IslandBreeze last summer sailing from Palma de Mallorca around the med and paid £500 each. It did include flights to and from Palma, but if they sell for so much less in the states, were they ripped off. And as I come to think of it, the full brochure price for the cruise was £800.

nononsense42 - Also being a Canadian, I am wondering where in the world did you get a cruise for $300 and was that US or Cdn., not that it matters much, but I have never heard of a $300. cruise. I just book a last minute with HAL and altho I got a deal, it was a lot more than that for a C cat. cabin which is a good cabin. How long was the cruise and where did you go and as Paddy asked was air included?

We booked our cruise with an agency in Orlando. If you want to email me I will give you the name. I cked in Canada, and the price was more than double. We each paid 340.00 US, cruise only, plus port charge of about 120.00 for an outside deluxe cabin. An inside was something like 270.00 Us plus port. We decided to splurge and go for the outside, haha. The very next week after booking we cked for a cabin for friends and the price had doubled. I suppose the ship had reached a certain capacity. The sailing entirely sold out. It was the Feb.20 sailing and it was a 7 day. We sailed from Fort Lauderdale, stopping at Cozumel, Roatan, Belize, and Key West. I heard several guests comment that for the price they were paying, they could not complain. If Premier continues to fill their ships with low paying passengers, I expect they will have future financial difficulties.

Premier is indeed selling 7 night Big Red Boat Land&Cruise packages starting at $399 US per person; kids sail free or for $99 US. This includes port taxes but not flights.

Premier was also selling their ill fated "Mexi Cruises" for the same rates, with free or $99 US airfare from most major US East Coast gateways.

And they are now offering 7 night cruises from NY and Port Canaveral on the BRB II starting at just $499 US per person.

--Regards,

Tim
