Hi Mitch

We are Aussies too. May I ask in what part of Australia you live. We are in northern N.S.W.

Back to the topic at hand. Part of our cruise this year was New Zealand to Sydney. It was fantastic sailing into Sydney Harbour and worth every cent!! We cruised into Sydney on the QE2 as part of her World Cruise. It is a must do and we will do it again in the not too distant future. The crew told us that it is one of the most beautiful harbours in the world to sail into.

I have heard some good reports on the Norwegian Star and I think that it goes to New Zealand. Some of the other well known ships go to New Zealand as part of their World Cruise.

Hi Elizabeth we are from Melbourne and have cruised Alaska on the Galaxy.
Glad Australia New Zealand cruise was great we would love to do it but business committments are steep in the summer months. Also have a v.c.e student so will have to wait till 2001 .
We are planning a cruise around singapore maybe for April 2000 but have not booked.

Mitch

Have a friend who cruised on the Norweginn Star earlier this year. Will contact them next week and let you know what they thought of it.

The Fair Princess is being replaced soon. I cannot remember which ship is taking its place, but perhaps the "new" ship will visit New Zealand on its repositioning cruise. - Just a thought.

( P.S.Melbourne is a great place! I was born there!)

Hi Mitch

Will check on prices for you. I have a feeling that it is the Sky Princess that is coming down under to take the place of the Fair Princess. Does that sound right?

in January, 1999 my wife and I sailed a 14 day cruise from Aukland, New Zealand to Sydney on the Sky Princess. It was the best cruise I have taken to date - the scenery in New Zealand is stunning and beautiful, and the people friendly and welcoming, as were the people in Australia. It is a cruise I would recommend to everyone. I also stayed in Australia and visited Sydney (coming into port was a once in a lifetime experience), Alice Springs, Ayers Rock and Caines.
The Sky Princess has been sold to The P & O Line, and will be doing Asian cruises out of Sdyney,I believe. Princess is replacing her with another ship for the New Zealand/Australia cruise. You can go to the Princess web site and discover which ship will repace the Sky Princess. I have cruised Princess several times and have been well satisfied. Happy cruising.

Mitch, I sailed on the Fair Princess around the Pacific Islands in 1998 and had a sensational time so I beleive you would have a great time going to New Zealand on her.
The Fair Princess departs around Jan 29 2000 for an Australian New Zealand cruise.

Regards Ashley

Hi there
We've just booked to do the millenium cruise which leaves Sydney on 19 Dec - it goes down to Melb and Hobart before heading over to cruise around NZ. RCI have some very good fares going at the moment to fill the ship. I've never been on the ship (Legend of the Seas) nor RCI before and have asked for feedback but you might like to check out the itinerary as it's one of the most comprehensive NZ cruises I've ever seen. Cheers!
