Has anyone been on either of these ships sailing the Carribean? They seem to offer great priceing, but don't know much about them. Do they offer much in the way of kids clubs? How was the food and service? Were there too many ports of call? We are a family of four (kids 10 and 12).

My wife and I have not yet cruised on Sunbird but we are cruising in Feb 2000. The itinery is very good, 9 Islands in two weeks! We have got quite a bargain - Penthouse suite Etc. for just over £5000. Reports about the food/service etc. are encouraging, not bad but you get what you pay for.

If you are flying with Airtours it is well worth upgrading the flight to Premier Gold as you get extra's such as 90 min check in time 10 KG's extra baggage allowance per person Etc. Don't know about kid's clubs as we didn't look into this as we have managed to arrange for the children to visit Grandma and Grandad. (YIPPEEEEEE)

All in all from reports I've read you get a good holiday for a good price whilst sailing on pretty good ships !!

First of all, are you American? In my experience they don't enjoy Airtours as much as British and Irish people do. But, assuming you are not, they are both good ships. I was on Carousel last summer and it was very enjoyable, and Airtours operate the same kids club on board their ships as they do on their land based holidays and are very good. I think i will tell you in the UK brochure, but if not email them or see their website (www.airtours.co.uk). If you have not yet booked, go with the Sunbird definately. While I enjoyed the Carousel, their were a few people who didn't, especially American who are used to bigger and better things. Also, try and get the latest edition of their brochure, as it has pictures of Sunbird operating with Airtours, not RCI.
I agree with Garry on upgrading to Premiair Gold for the increased legroom, Around £150 I think, or try to get additional legroom seats in the main cabin for a small supplement However, iI think all the seats in their new A330 aircraft and maybe some of their 767 fleet have t.v.s in all seats, and their short haul flights are excellent.
