We're on the Voyager Nov.21. Since this is your first cruise, be prepared to have the time of youy life!! I think RCCL is the best. We have never had a problem with service or food. Saw your other post, how old are the kids? No matter what the age there is something to keep them busy. As for hidden costs, there are some things that are extra that people never even think about. First there are pictures. On formal night they take formal portraits of you and the family. (They made us look good so I couldn't resist!)Then there's the roving photo guy. He takes photos throughout the cruise and posts them in the gallery, where you can purchase them or not. Also, they take video around the ship and patch it in to other footage they already have so you can purchase a video of your cruise at the end.

Also,RCCL has a soft drink program if you are under 18 (I think it's 18?) You pay a set amount and the soft drinks are free. I wish they had it for adults!! Check out the web site www.RCCL.com for details. I think the ice rink, climbing wall, and rollerblade rink may cost extra, but I'm not sure. And don't forget tipping the waiter and room attendant and head waiter, and anyone you want to single out for a special thank-you tip. I know it's expected, but I have never felt they didn't deserve it and probably would have tipped extra on my own, anyway. Cruising is the best way to travel. Savor each and every minute. I'm not even going to say how many we've been on, but each one is SPECIAL, I will take a few minutes to sit and just take in all the ambiance. I like Rccl because of the mix of ages. Not all young party types or elderly, but just the right mix to be fun. Lots, and lots to do on board. I know you will have a great time. We've been planning this one cruise for about 18 months, ever since we found out about the ship and are really excited and looking forward to being on the world's largest cruise ship!! P.S. Don't forget a little money for the slot machines, even if you're not a gambler.

One thing is very important, everything is charged to your onboard account, so it is very easy to overspend ! Every couple of days, go to the Pursers office and get a printout of your spending to-date, then you can adjust if needed. Otherwise, prepare for the most pampered time of your life. Cruising is FANTASTIC ! ENJOY !

I envy all those already booked on Voyager. I have been fortunate enough to sail on Vision of the Seas and Grand Princess' inaugural voyages/seasons. Let me tell ya nothing beats sailing on a ship fresh out of the factory. The staff is seems extra motivated and the experience is new for everyone onboard. If this is your first cruise take my advice...keep the toilet lid down when you flush...or don't and "baptize" yourself into the family of experienced cruisers. Just a little humor that you will remember once you get there. hehehe
