I think maybe she used to be called the Riviera 1 or Don Juan if I am not mistaken. I also believe The World Cruise Company used her breifley until she was arrested in Tahitiback a few years ago. I'm not sure if this is the correct ship, but she looks like it!

The ship I would like some more info on is the 2nd one from the top. I know this ship was doing Cuban cruises but simply can recall little else about the vessel.

quote:
364 PASSENGER / 139 STATEROOM CRUISE SHIP FOR SALE

IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE CARIBBEAN AREA

OWNERS PRICE USD4,250,000

CRUISE VESSEL "TBN"
PANAMA FLAG
BUILT 1968 / SPAIN
VESSEL COMPLETELY RECONSTRUCTED AND RENOVATED IN 1990
REFURBISHED IN 1995 AND 2000.
HIGHEST SAFETY STANDARDS ACCORDING TO SOLAS 74 / 81 / 97 AND LATEST MARPOL REGULATIONS.

SHE IS TOTALLY SOLAS COMPLIANT, INCLUDING THE YEAR 2010, COMBUSTABLE
MATERIAL, WHICH MAKES HER VALUABLE AS SHE IS ABLE TO SAIL FOR MANY YEARS.

I am thinking of a ship her size which could be reflagged to Canadian registry and offer cruises originating in Victoria BC for circumnavigating Vancouver Island.

I thought I was right, cause I remember seeing a photo of her on the website of the now defunct World Cruise Lines who did one circuit around the world on OCean Explorer 1 and then witched to the Riviea 1 and she got arrested in Tahiti, then I believe she also was supposed to go to Cuba for cruising out of Nassau under Cuba Cruise Corp owned by the same guy that had World Cruise Lines which both went under. And then I beleive she went to sail a series of Great Lakes Cruises which never happened and she sat in Montreal,Canada for quite sometime until sold at Auction!

I'm not sure if she used to be the Aegean Sea or not, I know she looks almost like her?

I'm not sure if its the right ship, but I sure think so!

Gpcruisedude:
You were very close in your history of this ship. She was the MTS Arcadia of Golden Sun Cruises of Pireaus. Mark and Chris have a review of her under Golden Star Cruises.

ex Angelina Lauro, Vicente Puchol, Arcadia, Caribic Star. Famous for the debacle with the CDC in the Great Lakes back in 2001. She had had a lot of work done to her for the Lakes, including swinging bridge arms fitted.
Here she is on 22 Nov 2000 in Rhodes..

two days later, 24 Nov, she was in Piraeus, the subject of my quiz, next to World Renaissance, with all deck chairs etc removed, looking as though she had entered lay-up for the winter?

the tugbarge website states its currently - Immediately Available Caribbean Area...

Does anyone know the current location?

Anyone know of plans between now and October when its scheduled to cruise australia? or will it remain laid up at its current location? or does it all depend on whether it gets new owners/chartered out to a company for a few months?
